Cuisinart Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Cuisinart Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Cuisinart Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker
  • Cup capacity: 12 5-oz. cups

  • Height: 14 inches

  • Warranty: 3-year limited warranty

  • Features: 24-hour programmable timer, automatic shut-off, adjustable heat settings, charcoal water filter, self-cleaning, Brew Pause, digital clock

This model brews consistently great coffee while offering bonus features like three heat settings so the carafe keeps at your ideal temperature post-brew, an automatic shut-off that lasts up to four hours and a changeable charcoal water filter.

Pros
Cons
Pros
  • The charcoal water filter helps to improve taste by removing impurities from the water.

  • The long-lasting automatic shut-off and adjustable heat plate are perfect for those who linger over a pot.

  • This style is an update of a popular, classic design, swapping all-stainless steel for black and steel, but keeping the retro vibe.

  • Affordable price for one of the best coffee makers that will last.

Cons
  • Some users say the addition of black plastic seems like a downgrade from the former all-steel version.

  • Some users say the fill lines on the carafe can be hard to read depending on the light.

The draw
This is the best ever coffee maker, in my humble opinion. This machine, if you clean it monthly, and keep the charcoal filter changed, will last 4-5 years.

The downside
Bought this in May and it worked great everyday then just died, it's only November.

Oh, the crema. That spoonable, intensely-flavoured coffee foam resting on top of every cup is what Nespresso does so well. Apart from a bougie café feeling with every cup, and its barely-there footprint on your countertop, this push-button coffee maker and espresso machine couldn’t be easier to use.

Pros
Cons
Pros
  • Minimal brainpower required—just pop in a pod and press one button.

  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity sends a message to your phone when the water tank is low, it needs descaling, or needs a system update.

  • Five single-cup sizes for maximum variety from a one-cup machine.

Cons
  • Not ideal if there are more than one or two coffee drinkers in the house.

  • Higher price point than other coffee makers.

The draw
I bought the Nespresso on the recommendation of a friend and I am now obsessed with it. The machine is so easy to use and the coffee is outstanding. So happy and enjoying every sip.
-Debi, originally posted on Nespresso.com
The downside
The Nespresso coffee is fantastic and the Vertuo Next machine itself is very easy to operate, however, it feels cheaper than I expected based on the price. The open and close mechanism is very stiff and clunky, not very smooth.
