|Tilt-head allows you to easily add ingredients or swap out bowls.||The large design takes up a lot of counter space, which may not be ideal in small kitchens.|

Tried several hand mixers which were cheaper but didn’t get the job done. Waited until I could afford this again and realized once and for all, this is the best mixer ever for cookies, cakes, etc.
I love it for the most part but I wish the stainless bowl had a pouring spout on it and I also would have liked the flex edge beater to have been included.
Best Large Stand Mixer
Bowl size: 6 qt. | Wattage: 500-749 watts | Capacity: 21 cups and up | Speeds: 10 speeds | Warranty: 1-year limited | Features: Bowl-lift design with three lock-points, comes in a variety of colours, dishwasher safe, more than 10 available attachments, 67 touchpoints around the mixer bowl
This dishwasher-safe mixer is perfect for large families or home bakers who love to make big batches of goodies. The large bowl mixes up to 13 dozen cookies in one single batch. Plus, you can invest in the pasta maker attachment to roll out all the noodles for your next Bolognese night.
|Large bowl mixes enough batter for more than 150 cookies at a time.||This larger model can be bulky in some smaller kitchen spaces.|

|The bowl-lift model allows maximum stability, even when kneading bread dough.|
I bought this mixer for bread and baking. It is a ‘must-have’ for high hydration bread dough as it can be very difficult to properly mix by hand – this machine has the power and capacity for anything I plan on making.
This is very powerful but so loud.
Best Small Stand Mixer
Bowl size: 4 qt. | Wattage: 300 watts | Capacity: 12-21 cups | Speeds: 7 speeds | Warranty: 5 years | Features: Planetary mixing action, non-slip feet, splatter shield, dishwasher safe
Hamilton Beach offers one of the best stand mixers for busy families on the go thanks to its compact size, which still offers plenty of function. It’s powerful enough to mix anything from peanut butter cookies to bread dough, plus the bowl and accompanying attachments are all dishwasher safe.
|Includes three attachments and planetary mixing action so you never have to scrape down the bowl.||Comes with fewer attachments than some of the other models out there.|

|Features a guide to help you determine which speed to use depending on what you’re mixing.|
|Lightweight and compact, which makes it easier to lift and maneuver.|
Perfect. It does everything I need it to. It is quite stylish too! Easy to maintain and clean.
When it is running the machine bounces or vibrates as though it wants to fall off the counter. I just put my hand on it and everything is fine.
Best Budget Stand Mixer
Bowl size: 3 qt. | Wattage: 200 watts | Capacity: 8-12.5 cups | Speeds: 5 speeds + turbo | Warranty: 1 year | Features: Lightweight with beaters and dough hooks, includes dishwasher-safe parts, easy one-handed use, converts to a hand mixer
Whip cream and concoct treats like cookie dough and meringue with just one hand using this lightweight model from Brentwood (it weighs in at just over 2.5 pounds). Get your basics done in a flash then throw the hooks or beaters into the dishwasher for fast and easy cleanup.
|Designed with one-hand use in mind to help you multitask faster in the kitchen.||It’s made for very basic functions and may not stand up to thicker batters or bread dough.|
|The inexpensive price is suitable for those with smaller budgets.||The non-planetary design means you’ll have to scrape batter from the sides of the bowl as you go.|
|Lightweight and portable for easy storage when not in use.|
Well built, nice looking. Saves getting out the big mixer for small batches.
Need to use a separate spatula to scrape the walls of the bowl down since the immovable mixer/blades can’t reach.
Best Multi-Purpose Stand Mixer
Bowl size: 4.5 qt. | Wattage: 300 watts | Capacity: 12-21 cups | Speeds: 12 speeds | Warranty: 3-years limited | Features: Tilt-back head, optional attachment port, stainless steel bowl, blue light illumination when in use
This all-out stand mixer is a great choice for families that like to cook and bake together. The machine is tough enough to handle robust batters and doughs, but the accompanying chef’s wire whisk also makes it ideal for more delicate fare like marshmallows, meringue and angel food cake.

|A port attachment gives you the option of purchasing add-ons like a meat grinder or pasta rollers.||This heavy model can be hard to store and it takes up extra counter space in smaller kitchens.|

I love this mixer [it’s a] big help to our daily lives.
The bowl is a little narrow, but deep so it does fit a lot.

So happy I don’t have to scrape down the sides. Attachments also reach the bottom of the bowl.
This product is ok for the price but the bowl is too small, could have been a bit bigger.

I don’t know how I got along without this stand mixer before. I simply love this mixer and I also have the ice cream maker attachment… I can’t wait to get the pasta and vegetable spiral attachment, as well as the sausage maker attachments.
The only downside is the price for each additional attachment.

Features to consider when buying a stand mixer:
- Wattage: The more wattage, the more power the machine’s motor has. If you plan on mixing thicker batters and heavier doughs, select a machine with a high wattage.
- Attachments: Most stand mixers come with three standard attachments: a flat beater, a wire whisk and a dough hook. But many models also sell separate attachments that can do everything from grind meat and make pasta to shred veggies and grate cheese.
- Speeds: Bakers typically need three speed settings: slow, medium and fast. But many mixers come with upwards of 10 speeds so that you can really customize the machine to your task.
- Warranty: A lot of stand mixers come with at least a one-year warranty, but some extend to five years or longer.
- Rotating actions: For consistent mixing action, look for a planetary mixing model (a.k.a. one where the mixing attachment spins while also rotating around the edge of the bowl).
- Bowl size: Most bowl sizes range from 3 to 6 quarts, but consider your baking needs before purchasing. Bigger bowls are good for those who double recipes or batch cook, while smaller bowls take up less space in the kitchen.
