What you need

How to make it

  1. Paint a toilet paper roll using black acrylic paint and let dry completely.
  2. Cut out wings and triangle ears from black construction paper or cardstock.
  3. Glue the wings to the back of the roll with a hot glue gun.
  4. Affix googly eye stickers on the paper roll to make a face.
  5. Attach a long piece of yarn or string using a hole punch and form a loop.

It’s hard to believe this stunning Halloween party décor idea is a toilet paper craft. Light up your night with this impressive and easy DIY.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Cut toilet paper and paper towel rolls into various heights.
  2. Paint all the cardboard rolls white and let dry completely.
  3. Insert a baking cup upside down into the top end of the roll and glue into place about two centimetres from the top.
  4. Using a hot glue gun, apply a heavy line of glue along the top of the toilet paper roll. Let the glue drip down the roll and add several vertical lines of glue for a more dramatic effect.
  5. Once the glue is completely dry, paint it with red paint for a chilling dripping blood effect.
  6. Drop in a battery-operated tealight and make sure it’s firmly in place by adding a piece of tape to the base of the tealight.
  7. Arrange the candles on a tabletop or use them to line an entryway or staircase.

We love it when Halloween arts and crafts double as cute fall décor for your home. This easy Halloween craft for kids can be put together in a few minutes and looks great on a fireplace mantle or windowsill.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Paint the toilet paper roll green with acrylic paint and let dry completely.
  2. Cut out five to seven long strips from orange cardstock or construction paper. The longer the strips, the rounder your finished pumpkin will be.
  3. Using small drops of hot glue, attach each strip to the bottom of the toilet paper roll.
  4. Attach the top ends of each strip to the toilet paper roll being careful to leave about an inch exposed for the “stem” of the pumpkin. You can also add a green paper stem at the top.
  5. Display your pumpkin DIY Halloween craft on its own or make several and disperse among real pumpkins to make your very own pumpkin patch.

4Creepy Crawly Spider

This easy DIY Halloween craft for toddlers is simple to make with only a few supplies. Make the eyes friendly or frightening to delight your little ones!

What you need

How to make it

  1. Cut the toilet paper roll horizontally, into three pieces. Each piece will form the body of a spider.
  2. Paint the paper roll pieces black with acrylic paint and let dry completely.
  3. Cut out a few long strips of black cardstock or construction paper for each spider. The longer the strips, the longer your spider’s legs will be.
  4. Using small drops of hot glue, attach each strip to the top inside of each paper roll.
  5. Gently bend the end of each “leg” to create a foot that will prop your spider up a bit.
  6. Attach the googly eyes with hot glue.
  7. Display your spiders across a dining room table or glue them to a spider web made from stretched cotton balls for a spooky installation.

5Superhero Cuffs

Transform your kids into their favourite superhero in a flash with this easy toilet paper Halloween craft that makes the perfect accessory for your tiny Wonder Woman or Superman.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Start with two toilet paper rolls to make a pair of cuffs. Cut a vertical line from top to bottom, through each toilet paper roll to create the cuff opening.
  2. For a Superman cuff, paint the toilet paper rolls with blue acrylic paint and let dry completely. For a Wonder Woman cuff, wrap and glue the toilet paper roll in gold vinyl or foil paper.
  3. Next, cut out shapes to decorate your superhero cuffs. For a Superman cuff, cut out two large yellow diamond shapes, two red ‘S’ letters, and four strips of yellow paper for the border. For a Wonder Woman design, cut out two red stars, and four strips from red paper. Tip: Use a star-shaped cookie cutter for a perfect star.
  4. Glue the construction paper pieces in place using a big of hot glue or paper glue.
  5. Slide the cuffs onto your little one’s wrists using the slit opening on the back and watch their imaginations take flight!

Make these easy Halloween crafts together with your kids or stash them away as a sweet surprise for Halloween night.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Plan out the design for each monster treat tube—it can be as complex as a vampire with a cape or as simple as jack-o’-lantern—and organize the colours of paint and paper you’ll need for each.
  2. Paint the toilet paper rolls the base colour for your design and let dry completely.
  3. Cut out the face pieces or accessories you’ll need for each monster design.
  4. Glue the pieces to the painted toilet paper roll and let dry.
  5. Lay a sheet of tissue paper on a flat surface and fill the center of it with candy.
  6. Roll the tissue paper to form a tube and tie each end with ribbon or string. Note: If you don’t have tissue paper, you can also use a clear bag or cellophane wrap.
  7. Gently slide the tissue paper tube into the finished toilet paper roll with the fluffy ends exposed. You can also cut the back of the roll open and wrap it around your candy tube, if necessary.
