Looking for a wholesome kid-friendly snack or side dish? With their deliciously tender interior and crispy, caramelized crust, air fryer plantains are a great way to celebrate Caribbean food culture. Best of all, these fried plantains can be cooked without any hot oil to manage (perfect for those busy weeknights!) and are super easy to prep, with only three ingredients: plantains, oil, and salt.

    Preheat air fryer to 350ºF.

    Peel and cut plantains on a slight diagonal into ¼- to ½-inch pieces, then add to a large bowl.

    Gently mix plantains with oil and salt.

    Place seasoned plantains in a single layer in the basket of air fryer and insert basket into air fryer to cook for 8 minutes.

    Flip and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes, until tender and golden brown around the edges.

    Jazz up your fried plantains with your favourite spice and garnish (optional). Serve warm.
