    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 375°F.

    Using a fork or pastry cutter, combine flour, shortening, Truvia Baking Blend and salt in a large bowl.

    Whisk water and egg in a small bowl, then add to flour mixture. Stir until mixture forms a ball. Knead slightly until smooth. Divide dough in half.

    Roll half of dough out on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a 8-inch pie pan and press onto bottom and up sides.

    Roll remaining dough out to a 10-inch circle. Cut into 1-inch strips, and set aside.

    Bake bottom pie crust for 15 minutes.

    Lower oven to 350°F. In a medium saucepan, add butter, flour, water, Truvía Cane Sugar Blend and Truvía Brown Sugar Blend then bring to a boil. Add sliced apples and mix until covered. Add apple mixture into baked pie crust then add 1” dough strips on top in lattice pattern. Brush water and egg mixture onto top crust.

    Bake until crust is golden brown, about 35 minutes.
