Grilled Steakhouse Burgers Recipe
Preheat barbecue to medium.
Place bell peppers and onion in centre of a large sheet of heavy-duty foil. Drizzle with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce. Fold to make tightly-sealed packet. Place on grill for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine ground sirloin with 2 tbsp barbecue sauce in a large bowl. Divide into 8 portions. Form each into a 1/2-in thick patty.
Turn foil packet over on grill. Oil grill. Barbecue burgers for 5 minutes. Brush with remaining 2 tbsp barbecue sauce. Continue grilling until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of burger reads 160°F, about 3 to 5 more minutes. Place a cheese slice on each burger. Continue grilling until cheese melts, about 1 minute.
Remove foil packet from barbecue and open. Layer bottom buns with cheeseburgers and vegetables. Sandwich with top buns.
