One-Skillet Beef Biryani

Making less mess, and using inexpensive ingredients like ground beef and rice, this one-skillet beef biryani recipe is a winning combination of speed, ease and economy. It's also a delicious dinner the family will enjoy. Tip: Using yogurt as a garnish mellows strong spices and adds cool creaminess.

    Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium. Add oil, then onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

    Stir in rice, biryani sauce, raisins and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, until rice is tender, about 10 to 15 minutes.

    Stir in cilantro. Serve rice with a dollop of yogurt, then sprinkle with almonds.
