Try your hand at a restaurant-quality beef stroganoff recipe with this simplified version featuring tender beef and meaty Portobello mushrooms. It all comes together in just 40 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley for extra flair.

    Cook egg noodles in a large pot of boiling water, following package directions.

    Season steaks on both sides with salt and pepper.

    Heat a large frying pan over medium-high. Add 1 tbsp of the oil, then steaks. Sear steaks, turning halfway, until browned on both sides and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the centre of steaks reads 145°F for medium-rare, 6 to 10 minutes. Remove to a plate to rest.

    Add remaining 2 tbsp of the oil to the same frying pan, then onions and mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 7 minutes.

    Slowly stir in yogurt, then reduce heat to low and simmer until thickened slightly, 5 minutes. Add egg noodles and stir to combine.

    Serve noodle mixture topped with steaks and parsley.
