Steak Bruschetta Recipe
Combine basil, tomatoes, garlic, oil, 1/4 tsp salt and black pepper in a large bowl. Cover and let stand at room temperature at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours.
Preheat barbecue to high.
Sprinkle steak with remaining 1/4 tsp salt. Oil grill. Barbecue steak until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of steak reads 145°F, for medium-rare, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, barbecue bread slices until lightly charred, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
Thinly slice steak. Top toasted bread with tomato mixture, then steak. Drizzle with any juices from tomato bowl.
