This simple salad works a light main dish or easy side salad for summer barbecues. Tip: Don't throw away that pasta water! Save time on prep with this trick: Just before your bowties are finished cooking, throw in your frozen peas. Drain together and toss with salad mixture.

    Cook pasta in a large pot, following package directions, 7 to 9 minutes, adding peas during last 4 minutes of cooking. Drain well, then return to pot.

    Meanwhile, combine tomatoes, bell pepper, ham, olives, oil, lemon juice, thyme, salt and black pepper in a large bowl.

    Add pasta and toss to combine, then stir in cheese.
