Breyers® Ice Cream Birthday Cake Recipe
Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions, baking in two 8-in round pans. Cool cakes in pans for 15 minutes, then transfer cakes to a rack to cool completely. Trim tops of cooled cakes to create flat tops. Wrap cakes in foil and freeze at least 2 hours.
Remove cakes from foil, then arrange 1 cake on a serving platter. Scoop your favourite ice cream flavour onto cake, smoothing to form an even layer. Top with second cake, pressing down slightly. Freeze 5 hours or overnight.
Whisk whipped topping with marshmallow creme in a large bowl until smooth. Frost cake with whipped topping mixture. Freeze 1 hour. Decorate with candy-coated milk chocolate candies, if desired. Serve immediately.
