
Buttermilk Cheddar-Bacon Bread Recipe

Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F. Spray an 8x4-in loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl. Set aside.

Whisk egg, buttermilk and butter in a medium bowl. Add to flour mixture along with bacon bits, cheese and chives. Stir until just combined. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake until a skewer inserted in centre of loaf comes out clean, about 45 to 50 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool for 15 minutes. Then remove loaf to rack to cool completely.
