Caramel-Nut Sticky Biscuits Recipe
Melt 1/4 cup of the margarine in the microwave in a medium bowl. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/4 tsp of the cinnamon, mixing well. Spread onto bottom of 9-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with pecans. Set aside.
Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 425°F.
Combine flour, oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and remaining 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a large bowl, mixing well.
Cut in remaining 1/2 cup of the margarine with pastry blender or two knives until crumbly.
Stir in buttermilk, mixing just until moistened.
Knead gently on a lightly floured surface 5 to 7 times. Pat into an 8-inch square.
Cut into sixteen 2-inch square biscuits. Arrange over topping in pan.
Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand 3 minutes, then invert onto a large platter. Serve warm.
