Double Chocolate Cookie Bars Recipe
Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F. Line 13x9-in baking pan with foil, leaving overhang on two sides. Spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Beat cake mix, butter and egg in a large bowl with an electric mixer until blended. Press 2/3 of the dough into bottom of prepared pan.
Microwave peanut butter, caramels and water in microwaveable bowl on high until caramels are melted, about 2 minutes, stirring halfway. Stir until mixture is well blended. Pour over dough in pan.
Pinch remaining dough into small pieces and place over caramel layer. Sprinkle with chocolate and peanuts.
Bake until centre is almost set, about 25 to 30 minutes. Place pan on a rack to cool completely. Use foil handles to lift brownie from pan before cutting into bars.
