Kraft Peanut Butter Cookie Bars

With flavour just like Grandma's! These Kraft peanut butter cookie bars start with a cake and pudding mix combination, making prep a breeze. (Adding a layer of crunchy peanuts and chopped chocolate halfway through baking makes these squares addictive.)

    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F. Line a 9x13-in baking pan with foil.

    Beat cake mix, pudding mix, margarine and milk in a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium, until combined. (Dough will be thick.) Press half of dough into bottom of prepared pan.

    Bake 10 minutes. Sprinkle half of chopped chocolate and 1/2 cup peanuts over crust.

    Microwave peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl on high for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave for 30 more seconds. Spread peanut butter over chocolate and nuts in pan.

    Roll remaining dough into a 9x13 in rectangle between two sheets of waxed paper. Peel back top layer of paper. Flip dough onto top of dessert. Remove remaining paper. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate and nuts. Press gently into dough so it sticks.

    Bake 15 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool for 1 hour. Then refrigerate for 4 hours before cutting into bars.
