Combine apples, cranberries, water, sugar, cinnamon and cloves in a large saucepan and set over medium-high. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cook, covered, until cranberries pop and the apples are soft, about 20 to 25 minutes.
Transfer mixture into a food processor. Whirl until desired consistency. Serve warm, or refrigerate in a sealed container until chilled.
