    Combine broth and garlic in a large frying pan set over medium-high. Bring to a boil, then add squash, brown sugar, butter, thyme and black pepper. Cook, covered and stirring occasionally, until squash is slightly tender but still has a bite to it, about 5 to 7 minutes.

    Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 12 minutes. Increase heat to high. Continue to cook until squash is lightly caramelized and glazed, and pan is dry.
