Don't just bake your potato—slice, season and then bake it! With golden crisp edges and herbaceous flavour these baked potato slices are an easy upgrade to an average side dish. Serve in pie-shaped wedges with roasted chicken or steak and vegetables.

    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 425°F. Spray a 10-in pie plate with cooking spray.

    Combine margarine, onion, salt, basil, thyme and pepper in small bowl.

    Arrange 1/3 of the potatoes in prepared pie plate in a circular pattern. Spoon 1/3 of the margarine mixture over top, spreading out onions. Repeat layers 2 more times.

    Cover with foil, then bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until potatoes are tender and edge is crispy and brown, about 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes, then cut into wedges to serve.
