Grilled Fruit Ice Cream Sundaes

Bananas aren't the only fruits that go with ice cream! Pile this sundae sky-high with a variety of grilled fruits (strawberries, pineapple, peaches and watermelon all grill well), and drizzle generously with honey-orange syrup. Add vanilla whipped cream on top of these grilled fruit ice cream sundaes for extra flair.

    Combine orange juice, honey and lemon juice in a small saucepan set over high. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool completely.

    Meanwhile, soak a few bamboo skewers in a dish filled with hot water.

    Preheat barbecue to medium. Alternately thread fruit on skewers.

    Oil grill. Barbecue fruit skewers, brushing often with half of orange syrup, until grill marks form, about 2 minutes per side.

    Remove fruit from skewers. Scoop your favourite ice cream into four dessert dishes. Top with fruit, then drizzle with remaining orange syrup. Serve immediately.
