Grilled Thai Turkey Burgers

Grilled Thai Turkey Burgers

30-minute recipe Serves 4
Thai curry paste and cilantro spice up these homemade turkey burgers. For a party, shrink down the size of your patties and make turkey sliders! Serve with your favourite toppings. Tip: Making a shallow indent in your burger patty before cooking helps the meat retain its shape.

Directions

Prep: 15-minute | Cook: 13-minute
  • 1

Preheat barbecue to medium. Heat a small non-stick frying pan over medium. Add margarine, onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 3 minutes. Stir in fish sauce and curry paste. Set aside to cool slightly.

  • 2

Combine cooled onion mixture, ground turkey, cilantro and mayonnaise-type dressing in a large bowl. Divide into 4 portions. Shape each into a patty. Press a shallow indent in centre of each with your thumb.

  • 3

Oil grill. Barbecue burgers, with lid closed, until cooked through and an instant-read thermometer inserted into burger reads 160°F, about 5 minutes per side.

  • 4

Layer burgers, lettuce, cucumber, onion, chilies and more cilantro between buns.
