Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Homemade cranberry sauce can be ready in just 20 minutes! With just three ingredients (plus the flavouring, if you want it) there's almost no reason not to make homemade cranberry sauce to go with turkey dinner. The touch of cinnamon, orange and vanilla, will make it a new holiday favourite.

    Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan set over medium-high. Bring to a boil.

    Add cranberries, cinnamon and orange zest. Bring back to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and sauce begins to thicken, about 10 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Cool to room temperature. Refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve.
