Maple Pecan Pie a la Mode

Add another layer of flavour to a classic pecan pie with maple syrup! Shortcut: Baking this maple pecan pie in a frozen tart shell saves a ton of time on prep. (The pie is in the oven in just 10 minutes.) This saves plenty of time to work on the rest of Thanksgiving dinner.

    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F.

    Whisk maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs and margarine in a large bowl. Stir in pecans. Pour into frozen crust. Place crust on a baking sheet.

    Bake until centre of pie is set, about 50 to 55 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool completely, about 2 hours.

    Cut into slices and serve pie topped with a scoop of ice cream, if desired. Serve immediately.
