To save time on those busy mornings, these waffles can be made ahead and frozen, then popped into the toaster as part of a healthy breakfast. The secret to packing this freezer waffles recipe with extra nutrients? Oatmeal. Yum.

    Whisk flour, oatmeal, corn starch, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Whisk eggs, milk and melted butter in a medium bowl. Whisk egg mixture into flour mixture until smooth.

    Heat and grease a waffle iron. Cook waffles following manufacturer's instructions. Transfer waffles to a rack to cool completely.

    Stack waffles between pieces of parchment. Freeze in a resealable plastic bag or airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

    To reheat: Toast frozen waffles in toaster until golden and heated through. Serve with berries, granola and maple syrup, if desired.
