Mini Beef Sliders Au Jus

Ready in a half-hour, these mini beef sliders make a great meal or party appetizer. The secret is actually in the sauce! A rich gravy of sautéed onions, garlic and fresh herbs acts as both a dressing and dip for your sliders. Simply drizzle mini beef patties with au jus gravy flavoured with garlic and rosemary. Serve with au jus on the side.

    Preheat barbecue to medium.

    Combine ground beef, half of onion and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Divide into 8 portions. Shape each into a patty.

    Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium. Add oil, then remaining onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and golden, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and rosemary. Cook 2 minutes. Whisk in gravy mix and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer 1 minute.

    Oil grill. Barbecue burgers, with lid closed, until cooked through and an instant-read thermometer inserted into burger reads 160°F, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.

    Layer lettuce, tomato and burgers over bottom buns. Spoon half of gravy over burgers. Sandwich with top bun. Serve burgers with remaining gravy.
