Slow Cooker Short Ribs Recipe
Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high. Add ribs. Cook until just browned on all sides. Transfer ribs to a slow cooker insert. Add carrots, onion, garlic and thyme.
Drain fat from frying pan. Add 1 cup water and gravy mix. Stir, scraping brown bits from bottom of pan, until combined. Pour over ribs.
Cover and cook until short ribs are tender, 8 hours on low. Remove short ribs and vegetables to serving platter. Cover to keep warm.
To make Gravy: Spoon out excess fat from slow cooker, if desired. Stir flour with remaining 2 tbsp water in a small bowl. Stir into liquid in slow cooker. Cook on high until thickened, about 5 minutes. Serve with short ribs and vegetables.
