Carne Asada Tacos Recipe
Combine 4 tbsp of the olive oil, vinegar, 4 tbsp of the lime juice, 4 of the garlic cloves, cumin, chili powder and sugar in large resealable freezer bag. Pierce steak all over with a fork. Place steak in bag and massage to coat. Marinate in refrigerator for 1 to 12 hours.
Preheat barbecue to medium.
Remove steaks from marinade and pat dry with paper towel. Discard marinade. Season steaks all over with salt and pepper.
Oil grill. Barbecue steaks, with lid closed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of steaks reads 145°F, for medium-rare, about 6 to 8 minutes, turning once. Remove to a cutting board and cover with foil. Let steaks rest for 5 minutes.
Combine tomatoes, avocado, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, remaining 2 tbsp of the lime juice, 2 tbsp of the olive oil and 2 garlic cloves. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To serve, slice steaks thinly against the grain and top with some fresh salsa.
