Classic Pork BBQ Back Ribs

Classic Pork BBQ Back Ribs

2-hour 40-Minute recipe Serves 4
With this classic pork BBQ ribs recipe, you can do all of the prep work before the party and pop them in the oven just before serving. Tip: Don't forget to remove the membrane from your ribs before starting—it pays off in the long run. (Leaving it on leads to toughness, which is the enemy of a sticky, melt-off-the-bone set of pork ribs.)

Pull off thin membrane from the underside of the rack of ribs. Dry each rack with paper towels. Rub spice rub all over ribs.

  • 2

Preheat one side of barbecue to 250°F for indirect grilling (one side will be lit, and the other will not.)

  • 3

Place ribs, bone-side-down, on barbecue grate over unlit side. Grill, with lid closed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into ribs reads 160°F, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. During the last 30 minutes of grilling, baste ribs with barbecue sauce every 10 minutes.

  • 4

Transfer to cutting board. Cut into riblets before serving.
