Classic Homemade Burger Recipe
Preheat barbecue to medium.
Combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, mustard powder and thyme in a small resealable container.
Sprinkle 1 tbsp seasoning mix over beef in a large bowl. Gently mix until just blended. Divide into 4 portions. Form each into a 1/2-in thick patty.
Oil grill. Barbecue burgers, lid closed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of burger reads 160°F, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
Layer bottom buns with spring mix, burger, cheese, bacon, mayonnaise and green onion, if desired. Sandwich with top buns, if desired.
TIP: Save remaining seasoning mix for the next time you make these burgers. (There is enough to make this burger recipe 2 more times.)
