Classic Homemade Burger Recipe

The seasoning mix in this classic homemade burger recipe will make the perfect patty, every time. Serve to your friends at your next BBQ bash or make for your family on a sunny weeknight. The seasoning recipe makes enough for a few batches of burgers, so make sure you save the extras!

    Preheat barbecue to medium.

    Combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, mustard powder and thyme in a small resealable container.

    Sprinkle 1 tbsp seasoning mix over beef in a large bowl. Gently mix until just blended. Divide into 4 portions. Form each into a 1/2-in thick patty.

    Oil grill. Barbecue burgers, lid closed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of burger reads 160°F, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.

    Layer bottom buns with spring mix, burger, cheese, bacon, mayonnaise and green onion, if desired. Sandwich with top buns, if desired.

    TIP: Save remaining seasoning mix for the next time you make these burgers. (There is enough to make this burger recipe 2 more times.)
