Toasted Pound Cake Recipe With Bananas

This is a superbly low-effort, high reward weeknight dessert. The delicious combination of warm pound cake, molten bananas and velvety vanilla ice cream is one to savour, bite by bite. (And did we mention this pound cake recipe is ready in just over 25 minutes?)

    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 350°F.

    Stir margarine with pumpkin pie spice. Spread 1/4 cup margarine mixture over both sides of cake slices. Arrange cake slices on a baking sheet.

    Bake until cakes are toasted, about 15 min. Set aside and keep warm.

    Combine bananas, brown sugar and remaining 1/2 cup margarine mixture in microwave-safe shallow dish. Microwave on high, stirring once, until heated through, about 2 minutes.

    Arrange warm cake on serving plates, then top with ice cream and bananas. Serve immediately.
