White Cheddar Mac & Cheese Recipe

A comfort food dinner favourite made extra gooey with two cheeses and creamy Alfredo pasta sauce. This white cheddar mac and cheese recipe—ready in just 30 minutes— is an excellent source of calcium, and a perfect cure for the blues.

    Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 425°F. Spray a 2-L baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

    Cook pasta following package directions. Drain.

    Combine cheeses in a medium bowl. Combine breadcrumbs with 1/4 cup cheese mixture and 2 tbsp melted margarine in another medium bowl. Stir to coat.

    Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high. Add remaining 1 tbsp margarine, then milk and pasta sauce mix. Whisk until combined. Bring to a boil. Cook, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened. Stir in remaining cheese mixture and drained pasta. Pour pasta mixture into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumb mixture overtop.

    Bake until crumbs are golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
